Williamson College sets professional education courses

Registration is open for the Youngstown Governmental and Not-for-Profit Update sponsored by the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University.

This year’s CPE Update will be held as two virtual sessions on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23, 8 to 11:30 a.m. The Governmental Update and Review will take place on Thursday, followed by the Not-For-Profit Update and Review on Friday.

The Update is approved by the AICPA for eight hours of CPE education for Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Registration fee for the two-day program is $199.00.

The sessions will cover areas of accounting and auditing for governmental and not-for profit organizations. The accounting pronouncements include those from the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Government Accounting Standards Board. The auditing standards include the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board pronouncements, the Government Accountability Office’s Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), and the Uniform Guidance, which includes the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.

Seminar leader Daniel Bradley, CPA, is a principal with the regional certified public accounting firm of Young, Oakes, Brown & Co. P.C. in Altoona, Pa. He has extensive experience in performing audits of governmental and not-for-profit organizations subject to the Single Audit Act and the Uniform Guidance. In addition, he has extensive experience dealing with entities (governmental units, not-for-profit organizations, and for-profit organizations) subject to the requirements of Government Auditing Standards. He has authored various CPE courses that have been used throughout the United States. He has been awarded AICPA Outstanding CPE Presenter in two of the last four years.
