The One. The Only.
We're Ohio's first and only college dedicated to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Our faculty are academic experts. But they're also working professionals, involving students in their daily research. You don't have to go to Silicon Valley to see the latest advances in modern electronics; that happens in our backyard.
Opportunity doesn't knock, because it's already at our students' doorstep. Take our STEM Professional Services, for example. Its sole purpose is to place our students in pre-professional internships.
With this level of professional support, it's not hard to see why we're Ohio's "first and only" STEM college. It's because we're some of Ohio's best.

Usually you find X-ray diffraction labs in corporate settings and large research universities. But our university is one of very few predominantly undergraduate institutions in the country to have a state-of-the art X-ray facility of its own. Where else can you get this level of hands-on learning as an undergraduate student?

Civil/Environmental & Chemical Engineering
Civil engineers build and operate our transportation, water resources and more. Most people can only worry about pollution, droughts, floods and hurricanes. As a civil engineer, your task is to help end or reduce these destructive powers.

We believe in providing opportunities, to our students and students yet to come. That's why we sponsor activities with our local community and school system. And we are committed to the highest standards of excellence, with students who are presenting research and winning awards at national conferences and contests. And did we mention that YSU's first Rhodes Scholar is a Math major?
