Transfer Articulation

Transfer articulation agreements

In conjunction with our partner institutions, Articulation Agreements define a relationship that enables students to more easily transfer to Youngstown State University (YSU). YSU has articulation agreements with several colleges across the country. Transfer opportunities are not limited to the schools/programs listed here. If your school/program is not on the list, email kaavery@ysu.edu to review your coursework and discuss transfer opportunities.

Each Articulation Agreement includes a student-centered, faculty-driven Transfer Degree Map that includes a semester-by-semester pathway! Explore by institution below to see if your college/university and major has an articulation agreement.

Degree Pathways

Degree roadmaps provide clear paths between degrees at other colleges and compatible degrees at Youngstown State University (YSU).

Although the idea behind a transfer roadmap is that you complete your degree (associate or certificate) at your home institution and continue to finish your associate or baccalaureate degree at YSU, each guide offers a semester-by-semester course comparison, so you can decide the best time to transfer. Many students choose dual enrollment at the home institution while enrolling at YSU.

Visit the YSU Admission page to get more information on the following:

  • Eligibility Requirements: Ensure you meet the specific eligibility criteria for transfer students, such as minimum GPA requirements or prerequisite courses.
  • Application Process: Follow our step-by-step guide on how to apply for transfer, including important deadlines and required documents.
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships: Explore available financial aid options and scholarships specifically for transfer students, and learn how to apply for them.
  • Advising and Support Services: Take advantage of our advising services available to transfer students. Schedule appointments with academic advisors to plan your academic journey.
  • Campus Resources: Utilize key campus resources to help you adjust, such as tutoring centers, career services, and student organizations.
  • Transfer Credit Evaluation: Understand how your transfer credits are evaluated and check which of your credits will transfer.
  • Orientation Programs: Participate in orientation programs designed for transfer students to help you integrate into the YSU community.

We realize transferring to a new college is a big step. That is why we are here to help. Please contact the Office of Admissions at 330-941-1662, or by email at kaavery@ysu.edu and speak to a transfer specialist with any questions you may have, and we will help you on your way.
