Prospective instructors submit a College Credit Plus (CCP) Instructor Application online, documenting their credentials.
YSU academic departments review the applications and forward them to the Provost's Office, which reviews potential faculty/CCP instructors to ensure they meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) credentialing requirements.
YSU academic departments make the final decision on whether or not a CCP Instructor application is approved.
The instructor is notified of the decision by the Department of Human Resources.
If approved, the CCP Office schedules a new instructor orientation with the academic department during the spring term. New CCP instructors will receive a copy of the syllabus, textbook options, and other relevant information regarding the class they will be teaching during this session.
A complete College Credit Plus Instructor Application includes ALL of the following:
Submit your completed application online at https://ysu.edu/careers.
Complete instructor applications are due by noon on the last business day of the preceding academic year in October. For example, an instructor who wishes to teach in the 26-27 academic year will need to apply by the last business day in October, 2025.
Teachers who apply 12-18 months before teaching the YSU course can attend CCP workshops for a year prior to their teaching start date.
Applying early also provides sufficient time to address issues that may arise during the application process.
Applications received after this date will be placed on file for the following year's application review.
We encourage all applicants to review the YSU CCP website at www.ysu.edu/ccp.
EXCEPTION: Schools may learn after the last business day in October that they must replace a CCP instructor. If this occurs, don't hesitate to contact the CCP office to make accommodations for late applicants.
