Instructor Application Process & Deadline

How to Apply

Prospective instructors submit a College Credit Plus (CCP) Instructor Application online documenting their credentials. YSU academic departments review the applications and forward them to the Provost's Office, which reviews potential faculty/CCP instructors to ensure they meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) credentialing requirements. YSU academic departments make the final decision on whether or not a CCP Instructor application is approved.

A complete College Credit Plus Instructor Application includes ALL of the following:

  • CCP Instructor Online Application (see below for instructions on how to access the site)
  • Letter of Intent/Cover Letter to apply for CCP Instructor status, highlighting qualifications and interest in the program
  • Resume/Vita (please list years of experience teaching each subject and all post-secondary education, including any professional development workshops).
  • Three letters of recommendation; one must be from your principal.
  • Copies of official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate study, both degree and non-degree, provided it is legible.
    • If approved, you will be asked to order official transcripts and have them sent to YSU. Official transcripts are sent directly from the issuing institution to YSU by mail or electronically to an email address provided later.

Deadline to Apply

Complete instructor applications are due by noon on the preceding academic year's last business day in October. Teachers who apply 12-18 months before teaching the YSU course can attend CCP workshops for a year before they begin teaching. Applying early also provides sufficient time to address issues that may arise during the application process. We encourage all applicants to review the YSU CCP website at www.ysu.edu/ccp.

Applications received after this date will be placed on file for the following year's application review.

EXCEPTION: Schools may learn after the last business day in October that they must replace a CCP instructor. If this occurs, don't hesitate to contact the CCP office to make accommodations for late applicants.
