WCBA Professional Development Summit prepares students for career success

Business students in the Williamson College of Business Administration will gain hands-on career experience and build meaningful professional connections at the Professional Development Summit 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, Jan. 23, in the auditorium of Williamson Hall.

The high-impact event features five career-focused sessions led by 25 to 30 employers, alumni and faculty members. Sessions will address topics such as internships, leadership development, professional portfolios and employer expectations. Students will also have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals during a networking luncheon, gaining real-world insight to help jump-start their careers. Registration is available through Handshake.

“The Professional Development Summit gives students the opportunity to learn directly from business leaders while building the confidence and connections needed to succeed in today’s workplace,” said Christina O’Connell, executive director of the WCBA Center for Career Management. “It allows our students to explore different career paths while preparing for what lies ahead.”

By combining practical career preparation with intentional networking opportunities, the summit underscores WCBA’s commitment to producing graduates who are career-ready and positioned to make an immediate impact in the Mahoning Valley and beyond. The event also highlights the role of the WCBA Center for Career Management in supporting students as they build strong resumes, sharpen interview skills and navigate career opportunities.
