Governmental and Not-for-Profit Update Oct. 21

The YSU Governmental & Not-for-Profit Update sponsored by the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.

The program is approved by the AICPA for 8 hours of CPE education for Ohio and Pennsylvania. The registration fee is $235.00 and registration is available online.

This year’s Update will be held online with sessions covering areas of accounting and auditing for governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The accounting pronouncements include those from the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Government Accounting Standards Board. The auditing standards include the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board pronouncements, the Government Accountability Office’s Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), and the Uniform Guidance, which includes the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.

Seminar leader, Michele Kemp, CPA, is owner of the Kemp Firm, LLC with more than 22 years of experience providing a variety of services to include assurance, tax, training and business consulting. She holds bachelor degrees in Accounting and in Economics and Finance, as well as a masters of Accountancy. Kemp is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and member and instructor for the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
