NO sharps or free liquids may be placed in biohazard bags or boxes.
- Sharps must be placed in plastic sharps containers
- Free liquids/hazardous chemical waste must be placed in an appropriate hazardous waste container, with lid & label.
All biohazard/potentially-infectious waste containers lids must be secured & bags closed using twist-tie or zip-tie.
All bags & containers must be labeled, including: Date, Responsible Faculty, Department, Building, Room # and description of contents.
- Waste containers may not be picked-up or removed from the lab without a completed label.
- Please contact EHS or the CMC for autoclave labels.
