Focus Groups, 2009

Focus Groups, Spring 2009

Each group had approximately ten to fifteen participants; obviously, although the groups were intended to be representative, in some cases they weren't, and it is risky to make conclusions based on these result alone.

Jane Reid, 08-09 chair of the IRB, recommended that we upload summaries rather than the full Focus Group reports because an IRB exemption had not been requested.

Participants

Advisors and faculty participated in the focus groups. For each domain (except Selected Topics), we invited teachers, both full and part-time. Selected Topics is so diverse that it was impossible to find enough common ground for a Focus Group. We asked that administrators not participate in this first round of Focus Groups.

Questions

Each focus group had similar questions; variations occurred to accommodate each group's focus. The questions are included in the summaries.
