Y Are You Running? 5K Run/Walk
100% for charity. 100% up to winners to decide the cause.
The Youngstown State University Honors College is hosting the first annual "Y Are You Running? 5K Run/Walk," which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8, on the YSU campus. Open to the public.
The race’s goal is to raise money for charities within the Mahoning Valley. All profits will be divided among the top male and female finishers who will decide which local charity they wish to each donate their portion of the winnings to.
The professionally timed 3.1 mile race will run throughout YSU’s campus and is sponsored by HBK CPAs and Consultants. Start time is 9 a.m. in the YSU Watson and Tressel Training Site; check-in and day-of registration begins at 7:30. President Jim Tressel will kick off the event and guide leading runners throughout the course.

Top Finishers
All race participants will receive two free basket auction tickets, while top finishers will receive:
- Top male and female finisher: $50 each and choice of Mahoning Valley charity to donate proceeds to.
- Prizes for 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers.
- Prizes for top runner in each age bracket.
