Bio
Dessalegn Negeri Guyo (Ph.D., MSW) is an assistant professor of social work at Youngstown State University Ohio from January 2022 to the present. He was an Associate Professor of Master of Social Work at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (November 2020- June 2022). He has 18 years plus teaching, research, and community service at Addis Ababa University, Jimma University, and INDIRHA Gandhi National Open University Africa regional office, Bowie State University as adjunct from 2017 to 2021, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and many others as adjunct professor.
Research Interests
Indigenous knowledge, community Development, child protection, adoption, implicit bias and its management, social policy, social work teaching and practices, indigenous knowledge, Immigration and adaptation, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder child protection networks and practices, indigenous adoption practices, women's roles and statuses in agro-industry, and social work practice with immigrants.
