Risk Management Center
The risk council will proactively promote risk awareness across the YSU campus community while providing leadership in the identification, assessment, and ownership of risk.
Risk Management Provides:
- Oversight of the University's property and casualty insurance programs
- Direction for the mitigation of risks associated with various activities including planning, outdoor adventure clubs, vehicle use, facilities use, field trips, and international travel
- Certificates of insurance
- Driver training and insurability checks
- Third-party claims resolution
- Allocation of insurance premiums and claim costs
- Coordination of annual facility inspections for insurance purposes
Insurance Procedures:
YSU requires timely and proper reporting of incidents and accidents that could become insurance claims so that insurance coverage is not jeopardized in addition to claims being resolved and paid timely (if coverage applies). All incidents and accidents can be reported to EHS by completing the online form below. Depending on the situation, additional information may be needed to determine if a claim must be submitted to our brokers. Questions about this process can be directed to Julie Gentile, Director of EHS.

There is a wide variety of information available concerning risk management and how to responsibly handle risk related incidents or prepare for events that may incorporate an element of risk.
