YSU's Phi Kappa Phi goes platinum!
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi recently recognized Youngstown State University’s chapter as a Circle of Excellence Platinum Chapter.
The award is given to chapters that exceed expectations in chapter operations and who demonstrate sustainability and vitality as a chapter of Phi Kappa Phi.
“It has been an unusual year, but our chapter leaders have all stepped up to find creative ways to welcome our new initiates and engage our members, including offering a recent event called Finding the Positivity,” said Mollie Hartup, coordinator in the YSU Honors College and president of the YSU chapter. “We are lucky to have such a strong group of scholars, leaders and people in our community.”
The recent Finding the Positivity event featured Annabelle Himes, YSU freshman pre-Business major and Honors College member, for her ability to use the pandemic to rethink the way she runs her business, Heroes and Tiaras, and serve the community at the same time. The recent event can be viewed here.
Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all disciplines. The YSU chapter also achieved Circle of Excellence Platinum status for the 2018-19 academic year.
