YSU presents Linda Gordon for Women’s History Month

Linda GordonYoungstown State University’s Darling Endowment in US History is hosting a presentation from Lina Gordon about “The Much Misunderstood Women’s Liberation Movement” at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 20.

The presentation will discuss the popular and scholarly writing about the American women’s liberation movement that is marked by misleading emphases and that has neglected vital parts of the movement.

The event will be held at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor and will be free and open to the public.

Gordon is a Professor Emerita of History and former Florence Kelley Professor of History and University Professor of the Humanities at New York University. She is also a two-time recipient of the Bancroft Prize in History and the author of dozens of scholarly articles and books, including “The Moral Property of Women: A History of Birth Control Politics in America.”
