YSU hosts national threat assessment workshop
Youngstown State University has been selected among six sites nationwide to host a workshop aimed at strengthening the way universities and colleges respond to threats.
The workshop 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, is presented by the Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center, which serves more than 600 member institutions in higher education and research by promoting cybersecurity operational protections and response.
The discussion-based workshop will focus on a scenario involving a measles outbreak. Participants will include representatives of health care, physical security, emergency management, information technology and security, and other subject matter experts.
Other workshop locations include the University of Northern Iowa, Purdue University, Northwest Academic Computer Consortium in Portland, Ore., Abilene Christian University in Texas and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
