A team of Youngstown State University students in the Williamson College of Business Administration placed second in the 2020 NASBITE International Student Case Competition.

Students on the team were Ahmed Elkhafif, Mason Scovil and Ryan Sheffield, under the guidance of Omer Genc, assistant professor of Marketing.

“I am very honored to be able to represent YSU at an international conference,” said Elkhafif, president of the International Business Organization who graduated from YSU earlier this spring with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.

“This large competition enabled me to use my knowledge to create a market entry strategy for a world-wide company. It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and apply what I have learned throughout my time at YSU.”

NASBITE is the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators. The international competition brought the best business students together to develop a global expansion strategy for Palladio Cosmetics. YSU’s team developed an international expansion plan for the company in the German market.
