Physical Therapy Department offers Fall Prevention and Parkinson’s Disease exercise classes

YSU Fall Prevention Exercise Classes

YSU’s Physical Therapy department has announced their latest schedule for Fall Prevention and Parkinson’s Disease wellness classes. Courses will take place during the spring 2024 semester running from January 8-April 24 at Beeghly Center.

Shannon Dudash, assistant professor, Physical Therapy will be hosting Fall Prevention classes 11 a.m-12 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays with a focus on strengthening and balance to reduce fall risk and education on fall recovery.

Additionally, Annie Tapp, assistant professor, Physical Therapy along with Matt O’Dell, assistant professor, will be offering an exercise class for individuals with Parkinson's Disease 10-11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, focusing on wellness, strength, aerobics, and balance. This will be a multi-level course, with a student led pre-assessment for any new participants.

These classes are free and open to the public, but registration is required.
