College of Graduate Studies celebrates 50th anniversary

YSU College of Graduate Studies 50 years of inquiry, discovery and creativity

The College of Graduate Studies at Youngstown State University celebrates its 50th anniversary with a dinner Saturday, Aug. 25, in the Atrium at Williamson College of Business Administration.

The event, celebrating “50 Years of Inquiry, Discovery and Creativity” also includes a campus bus tour, a wine and beer social and dinner with music. Registration deadline is Aug. 13. The cost is $40 per person and $20 for current students. Register online.

During the fall quarter of 1968, the YSU College of Graduate Studies began offering master's programs in chemistry, education, engineering, English, history, mathematics and music. Today, there are more than 875 graduate students studying in 38 graduate degree programs, including 3 doctoral programs.
