“How Artificial Intelligence Will Impact the Future of Work and Education” is the title of a forum 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Youngstown Historical Center of Labor and Industry on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is presented by the Northeast Ohio chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery and features presentations by David Staley, director of the Humanities Institute and an associate professor in the departments of History, Design and Educational Studies at Ohio State University, and Sundar Vedantham, director of Software Development working in the Datacenter Group of Intel Corp.

The forum, sponsored in part by the YSU Department of Computer Science, will focus on how AI will reshape the workplace of the future; how it will transform workers' relationships with co-workers, co-robots and AI agents, and their work environment; economic, societal, and ethical concerns; and if will AI make a "workless" future inevitable.
