Annual Tax Update set for Nov. 17 in Williamson Hall

The Youngstown State University Annual Tax Update, offered by the Williamson College of Business Administration, is scheduled 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 in Williamson Hall at YSU.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m.

The seminar is designed for practicing accountants, enrolled agents, or tax preparers who want to stay current and knowledgeable on tax regulations and laws.

Mark J. Patrick, CPA, keynote speaker and principle with Packer Thomas, has 26 years of experience specializing in taxation, and has developed expertise in corporate and partnership tax issues. In addition, he has extensive knowledge in business valuations and litigation support. He is a strong proponent of “face-to-face” involvement with his clients in order to provide pro-active planning and to take advantage of new developments in the tax law those clients are affected by. Patrick is co-owner and presenter of CPE programs for Nichols Patrick CPE Inc. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and The Ohio Society of CPAs.

The YSU Annual Tax Update is a fast-paced, one-day course covering the latest developments in taxation with an emphasis on real world applications. Topics covered include tax law changes, evaluation of court decisions, IRS notices, revenue rulings, and revenue procedures and their impact on tax planning and compliance; and the review of IRS audit issues and pending legislation. The seminar provides 8 hours of CPE credit approved by the Accountancy Board of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
