All that Jazz: Dana ensembles in concert

The Dana School of Music Jazz Studies presents the following upcoming concerts:

Monday, April 15, 7:30 p.m. Dana Jazz Ensembles at Stambaugh Auditorium, featuring music by YSU alumni David J. Perrico, Bryan Kennard, Sam Blakeslee and Stephen P. Harvey, and arrangements by current YSU students Matt Eustace, Herbie Hunkele, Colt Hutchinson, Matt Jackson and Nicholas Frank will also be featured. Free and open to the public.

Monday, April 22, 7:30 p.m., Jazz Combos in Bliss Hall’s Spotlight Theater, featuring compositions and arrangements by YSU students Anthony Taddeo, Colt Hutchinson, Lucas Ciecielski, Herbie Hunkele, Isaac Hraga and Matt Jackson. Also, the short film “Swing Note,” a collaboration between YSU student composer Maxwell Franko and Point Park University student filmmaker Chris Copen, will be screened. The score was performed by the YSU Jazz Ensemble and recorded by YSU student recording engineer Isaac Hraga. Free and open to the public.  

Thursday, April 25, 7:30 p.m. YSU Contemporary Ensemble inaugural performance at Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts, 34 N Phelps St., Youngstown, featuring “Classic Rock” styled compositions and arrangements by YSU students Taylor Natoli and Matt Jackson. Free and open to the public.
