Math Placement Assessment Retesting using Aleks PPL

After Alex assessment is complete some students may be required to study in the available Aleks Math prep and learning modules. Working diligently in these learning modules can help you learn mathematics topics and prepare for retaking the Aleks PPL assessment. Each student is permitted to retest up to two times but make it your goal to study effectively so that one retest attempt is all that you require.

You can work in your ALEKS Prep Module to refresh your math skills and take the placement assessment up to 2 more times.

To retest:

• Logon back into your YSU Portal Account to access the ALEKS Placement Test and your individualized Prep and Learning Module.
• There is a 48-hour “cool-off” period between your placement attempts. This means that you cannot study all night and return the next day.
  • Please pace yourself.
• Treat Aleks like a math course. You are required to spend a minimum of 10 hours working in your individualized ALEKS Prep and Learning Modules.
  • You may spend MORE than 10 hours if needed.
• You may not retest if you have not completed the required time in the learning modules.
