GRADUATE ASSISTANT INTERN

The Graduate Assistant Intern (GAI) at the Resch Academic Success Center, Accessibility Services is responsible for providing academic coaching and support to at-risk students with disabilities. Working under the supervision of the Center's staff, GAI will assist in fostering a supportive learning environment, motivating students, and facilitating their academic success. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for student development, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Access 2 Success Duties

  • Conduct as Access 2 Success sessions with students registered with the Accessibility Services Office, with a caseload of up to30 students for the fall semester and up to 30 for the spring semester.
  • Mentor students on the fundamentals of learning and apply them to their academic pursuits.
  • Shares campus wide information with students.

     

Administrative Duties

  • Write meeting notes for Access 2 Success students.
  • Provide bi-monthly staff reports to the supervisor, highlighting progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Track student outreach activities, contacts and referrals to maintain accurate records and facilitate continuity of support.
  • Manage and share an electronic calendar to coordinate appointments and scheduling efficiently.
  • Enters data in Accommodate system
  • Assist in coordinating the Accessibility Services Student Groups.
  • Other duties as assigned (presentations, campus events, special projects)
  • Assists with testing including scheduling of tests for students with disabilities, responding to professor's concerns and requests, and providing accommodations (such as reading and scribing tests)..

     

20 hours per week required beginning August 17th, 2026, through May 1, 2027

Salary: $7500. Tuition remission included.
