Red Flag Training Program

The Identity Theft Prevention Program Committee will present a Red Flag Training Program for the YSU Community on an annual basis. The program may be in the form of a webinar, online training, in-person training, speaker, or other format as determined appropriate by the committee.

The YSU Community will be scanned and surveyed to identify those departments and individuals that must participate in the training. These areas may be identified through surveys, analysis of financial transactions processing, self-identification and/or and actual incident occurrence.

A notice will be communicated to the responsible individual in each area, directing that person to participate in the training and to conduct training of appropriate persons in their respective areas that should also participate in the Red Flag Training Program. The notice will provide information regarding the training program including a return certification form that must be completed and returned.

These certifications will be kept on file with the Bursar to serve as proof of training and as a reference list for the following year’s training participants.

In addition, an announcement may also be sent to the YSU Community inviting and encouraging all interested parties to participate in the training program.
