YSU Tuba/Euphonium Day

Tuba and euphonium players of all levels are invited to Youngstown State University to partake in the 2nd annual YSU Tuba/Euphonium Day on Saturday April 15th from 9 AM - 8:30 PM! Come join us for a day of music and insight into various parts of the music industry with our guests: Timothy Northcut, Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music SSG Irving Ray, Euphonium with The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Guests who register will be able to partake in a warm-up session with Youngstown State’s professor of tuba and euphonium, Dr. Yukitada Onitsuka, as well as be able to partake in the mass tuba/euphonium ensemble, sit in on the masterclasses taught by Professor Northcut and SSG Ray. There will also be an insightful panel discussion featuring both Northcut and Ray as they discuss careers in military bands and audition preparation. The day will be capped off with a recital featuring the mass tuba/euphonium ensemble, and performances by Onitsuka, Northcut, and Ray. Guests are encouraged to park in the Wick Ave. parking deck for a nominal fee.
