National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD)
The Department of Art is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), an organization whose membership includes 250 schools out of approximately 2,000 art departments nationally.
National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
The Dana School of Music is a member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The requirements for entrance and for graduation are in accordance with the published regulations of the National Association of Schools of Music, of which the Dana School of Music is a member.

National Association of Schools of Theater (NAST)
The National Association of Schools of Theatre accredits the Department of Theater and Dance.
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
Youngstown State University teacher education programs are accredited by the Ohio Department of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). These programs are subject to the sections of the Ohio law and regulations governing teacher education and licensure. The College of Education serves as the recommending agent for all Youngstown State University graduates who wish to qualify for state of Ohio licensure as well as for licensure in other states.
