What it offers
The wording and context for the passage of the Declaration in 1948.
How used
I’ve used this as both a foundation and one of the “bullets” I mentioned Thursday.
Foundation
To put the discussion of inequality and injustice and freedom and justice into a broad context, in part, to “legitimize” my discussion of these topics. I can point to particular reference points within and use the wording as a writing prompt or even as a question for a reading check.
