Memberships

YSU STUDENTS:

YSU students – Current, general fee assessed Youngstown State University students (unless removed due to academic or conduct related misconduct) may use the facilities and services without paying an additional membership fee.

VALID YSU ID must be provided for facility access. 
Students must be registered in a "for credit" class for the current semester.

Online Only Students:

As an Online Only student enrolled at YSU, you have access to purchase a membership to the YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track, Group X classes) on the first day of the semester to the last day of the semester.

Daily Fee:  $10

Semester Fee:  $60

Academic Partner Students (AOP):

As an Academic Partner student enrolled at YSU, you have access to purchase a membership to the YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track and Group X classes) on the first day of the seven-week session to the last day of the seven-week session.

Daily Fee:  $10

Session Fee (1^st day of the session to the last day of the same session):  $35

Important Program Information:

In order to use the facility or any department programs, you must:

Be 18 years of age or older (must show state-issued photo ID that includes a birth date for age verification)

Be registered for at least one hour of the session in which you wish to purchase a day pass or membership.

All programs must be registered and completed within the paid membership session.

Membership eligibility begins on the first day of the registered session.

Register for Rec Center Membership (in person) at the Campus Recreation Administrative office on or after the first day of classes with the following: YSU Photo ID and State issued ID for age verification.

Dates of Access to the Facility:

First day of the seven-week session to the last day of the seven-week session.

Guest Pass Policy: AOP students are able to sponsor guests for a daily fee of $10.00 per day.

CCP/YEC STUDENTS:

Students in College Credit Plus (CCP), English Language Institute (ELI), Youngstown Early College (YEC), or enrolled in the Police Officer Training Academy may require additional waiver forms.

College Credit Plus (CCP):

As a CCP student enrolled at YSU, you have access to purchase a membership to the YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track, Group X classes) on the first day of the semester to the last day of the semester.

Daily Fee:  $10

Semester (1^st day of the semester to the last day of the same semester):  $70

YEC Students:

Youngstown Early College students who have been approved by the YEC Program are able to use the Rec Center.

CCP/YEC:

In order to use the facility or any department programs, you must: 

Be 16 years of age or older (must show state-issued photo ID that includes a birth date for age verification).  Complete and return a Facility Access waiver for building access and Climbing Wall waiver for climbing wall use on the first day of classes or after during the registered semester. Those students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.

Students with a fall waiver on file do not need to fill out a new waiver for spring and summer semesters. These students need to visit the administrative office in the Rec Center with their vertical YSU ID and State ID for age verification on or after the first day of classes so that YSU student status can be verified with a current waiver on file.

New waivers must be completed every fall semester.

Membership options include: Daily pass or semester pass.

Guest Pass Policy:

CCP/YEC Students are not permitted to purchase Guest Passes.

VISITING STUDENTS:

Enrolled from other Higher Education Institutions (verification of enrollment must be provided).

Daily Pass:  $10

Weekly Pass:  $20

Semester Pass:  $90

There is a $20 fee for replacement IDs

Students may be subject to intermittent verification of enrollment. Memberships can be revoked if students are deemed ineligible for membership type. No refunds will be given if deemed ineligible.

Congrats on you beginning your new journey as a YSU Penguin! As a newly student enrolled at YSU, you have the ability to purchase a membership to the YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track, Group X classes & more) starting the first day of the summer semester, after you enroll for the Fall semester.

YSU Staff Membership: ($100) This category is available to all Youngstown full and part-time staff.  Employment status must be current at the time of purchase. Staff employees, who are also students qualify for student rates.

Payroll deduction ($25 due at purchase and 3 payments of $25).

Payroll deduction is offered year-round for 12-month employees. Nine-month employees can use payroll deduction during the months of August through March. Expanded members are eligible for payroll deduction under the same terms. An additional $25 payment must be made at the time of purchase and three remaining payments for the expanded membership will be deducted through the sponsor’s payroll in three consecutive pays once the paperwork has been submitted and processing is completed. The sponsor must accompany the expanded member if you choose payroll deduction. Retirees, YSU Foundation employees, Occasional Service, Intermittent employees and their sponsored expanded members are not eligible for payroll deduction. Failure to provide funds through payroll deduction will result in immediate termination of membership.

MEMBERSHIP FEES:

EXPANDED MEMBERSHIPS:

The Department of Campus Recreation and the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center offers a Faculty, Staff, Retirees, Youngstown Foundation Expanded Membership Program.  The program is to accommodate spouses and dependent children 18 years through 25 years of age that live in a common household.

The following groups have been identified to purchase an affiliate membership based on their engagement with students, faculty, and staff at Youngstown State University. The continuous interaction between these groups and students, faculty, and staff contribute to the overall retention and growth of YSU students as well as support the mission of the Division of Student Experience. Current employees/advisors of these groups are eligible to purchase memberships to Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center at one of the following rates:

1 Month:  $25

3 Months:  $70

6 Months:  $130

Annual:  $240

YSU Alumni maintain an active, ongoing engagement with the Youngstown State University community beyond graduation, which supports the mission of the Division of Student Experience.

Guins Memberships are available for purchase at the following rates:

YSU Alumni (degree completion required) will be able to purchase a membership to Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center to access the facility during normal business hours.

Hours of operation and programs offered are developed around the university calendar and current student needs. While actual starting dates and lengths of semesters and breaks vary each year, semesters start in January, May, and August.

The Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed for two weeks (one in December and one in August) annually for maintenance and cleaning. Please check our Hours of Operation for complete facility hours. Memberships will not be extended or refunded due to these closures. Andrews is also closed for University Holidays and follows university policy for inclement weather adjustments. See the website for details.

PROGRAM DISCONTINUATION/CANCELATION:  Alumni membership offerings are reviewed yearly. These memberships are sold on a first-come/first-served based with a limit of 2,500 total alumni members. Campus Recreation reserves the right to reassess or discontinue the program based on utilization numbers if needed. The program will be discontinued only after individual membership obligations have been fulfilled.

THE PROCESS (PLEASE READ):

The sponsoring Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation employee member must have a current membership when enrollment of the expanded member occurs. Also, they must accompany those eligible for the expanded membership program throughout the initial application process. They do not need to be present for renewals.

The applicant must provide a state-issued photo ID that includes name, address (residence must be the same as the Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation member), and date of birth (to verify residency and age of applicant).

Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation employee sponsor must provide a valid YSU ID and a state-issued photo id to verify name/residence.

All members must adhere to the Department of Campus Recreation policies and procedures.

Personal Training is available at the Faculty/Staff rate. Payroll deduction is available for Personal Training!

To encourage an active lifestyle, Campus Recreation offers Plus-One memberships.  Active members can now sponsor up to two friends or family members to purchase a Plus-One membership to the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center at the following rates. 

Student Plus-One Memberships are available for purchase at the following rates:
