Getting the Guidebook

We encourage everyone to get the Guidebook app ahead of the OHECC 2018 for up-to-date information about conference sponsors, speakers, sessions and more.

ADA Q & A: SECTION 504 & POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION

Many parents of students with disabilities have learned the basics of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). However, as students and their families prepare for the transition from secondary school to postsecondary options they often find they are less familiar with the protections provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

How will I know if I need to provide accommodations for a student?

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibit discrimination against individuals with disabilities.
