79th YSU Homecoming events this week
Youngstown State University celebrates its 79th annual Homecoming with events ranging from the Fall Fire Fest concert, tri-cycle races and Build-a-Penguin to the annual parade up Fifth Avenue, a big football rivalry and the crowning of the king and queen.
Here are some of the highlights:
Thursday, Oct. 10
Fall Fire Fest
7 to 11:00 p.m., M71 parking lot (351 Grant St.), concert, bonfire, and pep rally.
Friday, Oct. 11
Red & White Day Tricycle Obstacle Race
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Heritage Park at YSU (rain location: Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Basketball Courts.
Build-A-Penguin
2 pm until they're gone, Heritage Park at YSU (rain location: Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
Silent Disco
7 to 10 p.m., DoubleTree Hotel, downtown.
Saturday, Oct. 12
National Marionette Theatre: Pinocchio

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Noon to 3 p.m., Chestnut Room, Kilcawley Center.
Homecoming Parade

Halftime, Stambaugh Stadium, announcement of the 2019 Homecoming king and queen.
