Summer Eligibility

You are allowed to take up to 30 high school and college credits a year under College Credit Plus. This includes the summer semester. Summer begins the academic year, so your 30 credits include summer, fall, and spring terms.

We strongly encourage you to discuss your high school schedule with your school counselor before scheduling summer courses. Students who need to maintain eligibility for athletics or extracurricular activities may need to adjust their high school and/or college schedule in the fall or spring semester.

Please pay close attention to the YSU academic calendar when scheduling summer courses. There are start dates in May that may overlap or conflict with your HS schedule. We also have different "parts of term": 7- 14 week-long classes with various start and end dates. Note: The shorter the term, the longer the class time is each day it meets.

New and continuing CCP students who want to enroll in Summer classes must complete the new student application (new students) or continuing student form (continuing students) and submit all required application documents by March 1, 2024.

If you are scheduled or anticipated to graduate in May or June this academic year, you are not eligible to take summer classes under College Credit Plus.
