Dana Strings and Chamber Music Day, Oct. 23
High school and advanced middle school students who play violin, viola, cello, bass and piano are invited to attend Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music Strings and Chamber Music Day 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 in Bliss Hall on the YSU campus.
The event is free, but registration is required at www.ysu.edu/Dana.
Students will participate in improvisation and fiddle workshops, play chamber music with each other, take part in a large-ensemble side-by-side reading and rehearsal with Dana students and meet faculty in the strings and chamber music areas. Parents, guardians and others are welcome to attend a question-and-answer session at 4:30 p.m., and the day concludes with a performance by the Dana Piano Quartet at 5 p.m. in the McDonough Museum of Art.
