Bio:
Rachel Stegeman, a native of Washington D.C., is newly appointed to the position of Artist Faculty at Youngstown State University. Currently, she has been the Concertmaster of the Wheeling Symphony for over 20 years and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra for over 7 years. She has been the Associate Concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra for over 20 years as well. Previously she performed as an extra musician for the Pittsburgh Symphony for over 12 years. Other activities include being Adjunct Violin at Duquesne University (over 20 years), Director of Violin and Viola Boot Camp, Artistic Director of the City Music Center at Duquesne University, and Artistic Coordinator of the Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas. In the past Rachel has been a commercial recording artist in Hollywood and the Los Angeles area for 13 years. She has performed in over 1000 motion pictures, records, television shows and commercials, live television and award shows such the Oscars. She was Associate Concertmaster for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, and the Opera Pacific Orchestras, amongst others.
