Business students attend BGS Leadership Summit
Sienna Summers and Emily Basista, business students from the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University attended the Beta Gamma Sigma Regional Leadership Summit at Loyola Marymount University College of Business Administration in Los Angeles.
Summers, a senior accounting major from Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, is vice president of finance and Basista, a senior accounting major from Struthers serves as vice president of alumni relations for the YSU Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter.
The Global Leadership Summit, held Nov. 1-2, allowed students to explore the concept of dynamic leadership, adapting to todays’ workplace complexities with integrity, innovation and inclusivity. Speakers, panelists and facilitators on the topic of “Navigating Leadership: Adapting Styles for the Evolving Workplace” covered effective leadership, adaptability in the workplace, ethical considerations and technological advancements like artificial intelligence.
Beta Gamma Sigma is an international business honor’s society available to only AACSB accredited schools. Only 5% of business schools around the globe have this accreditation and only undergraduate students in the top 10% and graduate students in the top %20 qualify for entry to the society. The YSU Beta Gamma Sigma chapter was installed June 11, 2000. To date, the chapter has inducted 1,135 students into the prestigious organization.
