Links Inc. starts scholarship for minority students

The Youngstown chapter of Links Inc. has established a new scholarship for minority students attending Youngstown State University.

The new scholarship is available to minority students of African ethnicity with a minimum 3.0 grade average who are enrolled full-time and are not Links members or immediate family of a Links member.

Links Inc. was founded in 1946 in Philadelphia in the wake of World War II to promote civic, educational and cultural concerns and lead black women into post-war America. The organization has a membership of 14,000 women and 282 chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

The Youngstown chapter of Links Inc. was organized and chartered in 1955 to improve the quality of life through service to others in the community.
