The Wilmington Alumni Chapter has shown its commitment to YSU students by hosting the softball team for dinner for the past two years when the Penguins were in town for tournaments at UNC-Wilmington. Local alumni were able to support the student-athletes in their endeavors, while demonstrating the importance of alumni connections after graduation.

“Getting a chance to meet YSU alumni was truly an awesome experience. On the way back to our hotel, all the players were talking about how excited they are to someday have the opportunity to join an alumni chapter close to them,” said Brian Campbell, head softball coach.

Although the softball team won’t be playing in Wilmington in 2020, the Wilmington Alumni Chapter looks forward to attending a tournament and hosting the players and coaches in 2021.

“Supporting our student athletes is both fun and satisfying,” said Chapter Leader Denny Clouse. “It really affirms our connection to YSU and the student athletes who represent us.”
