Industrial Hygiene

EOHS has developed a comprehensive industrial hygiene program that is designed to anticipate, recognize, and eliminate those hazards in the workplace that will adversely affect the health of members of the campus population. The program includes written plans for hazard communications, bloodborne pathogens, respiratory protection, and hearing conservation, to name a few. In addition to these written policies, registered sanitarians from the EOHS staff routinely inspect all food service operations, vending machines, and student bake sales to assure that they are complying with state and local regulations pertaining to the safe handling and serving of food.

EOHS maintains the license and assumes responsibility for the safe operation of Beeghly Natatorium. Registered sanitarians from the department also perform routine inspections of locker rooms to assure that they are meeting approved standards for sanitation.
