• Accessible exploration

  Honors has an immediate need to purchase a special wheelchair that would allow a student to safely explore areas of Mill Creek Park and other outdoor areas. A device that can traverse trails costs approximately $7,000, and several current students would be able to utilize.

• Honors study abroad in San Salvador

  Since 1999, honors students have been part of the annual study abroad to San Salvador, a small island in the Bahamas, which has been a second home to retired Geography professor, 

  Dr. Ron Shaklee. In retirement, Dr. Shaklee continues to teach the course as an honors academic experience. 

  In order to fund faculty and reduce costs for students participating in the excursion, we are seeking $400,000. (This would fund the faculty member and subsidize $500 in cost for 20 students in perpetuity.)

• Home Sweet Cafaro

  Many alumni fondly remember life in Cafaro House and other honors-related spaces. Students today are carving out new areas and creating memories every day. Naming opportunities for the spaces that may hold meaning for our alums are available beginning at $10,000.
