Alex Pesch was born and raised in northeast Ohio.  He attended Ohio University and graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's of science degree in mechanical engineering.  He then worked in the jet engine overhaul industry before pursuing graduate studies at Cleveland State University where he worked as a research assistant in the Center for Rotating Machinery Dynamics and Control.  In 2013, he received a doctorate in engineering and in 2015 Dr. Pesch accepted a faculty position at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York.  Then, in 2021, he returned to his native Ohio and accepted a faculty position at Youngstown State University.
Alex Pesch has the great honor of overseeing the YSU Mechanical Vibrations Lab located in Moser Hall room 0460 where he teaches and conducts research in the area of dynamic systems and controls.  Some of his publications are listed at [ Alexander H. Pesch Citations ].  He also has the great honor of serving as the faculty advisor for the YSU Robotics Club.  More information on the YSU Robotics Club can be found at [ Robotics Club ].
