YSU students place in international competition
Four YSU students placed as finalists in the 2022 NASBITE International Student Case Competition.
The team included Michael Puhalla of Poland, Ohio, Cassandra Tomlin of Venetia, Pa., Carly Calderone of Youngstown, and Sam Madden of Kent, Ohio, under the guidance of Omer Genc, assistant professor of International Business in the Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU.
The WCBA team presented a case analysis and international expansion plan virtually to the NASBITE judges and company executives.
“Participating in this competition gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I have been learning both in the classroom and in my internship at the SBDC, and to collaborate with others to create an international business plan,” said Tomlin, a member of YSU’s Honors College.
NASBITE, which stands for the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators, is a professional organization for the global business community that promotes international business practice, education and training.
