WCBA to host 25th Annual Accounting Student/Practitioner Day

The Williamson College of Business Administration in conjunction with the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance, the Center for Career Management, the Ohio Society of CPAs, Beta Alpha Psi and the Institute of Management Accountants will host the 25th Annual Accounting Student/Practitioner Day, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Fri., Nov. 5 in the Conference Center of Williamson Hall.

Participating YSU students will kick off the day with an interactive presentation and discussion led by Laura Hay, executive vice president of the Ohio Society of CPAs, entitled The Future of Accounting Work. Accounting students and practitioners in attendance will discuss the social and technological changes that will shape the future of the profession.

After the keynote event, students will attend discussion sessions with accounting practitioners who will discuss the opportunities in and the outlook for public accounting, forensic accounting, nonprofit/governmental accounting and corporate accounting. In addition there will be a professional panel discussing the use of data analytics, and another in which students hear from recent YSU graduates about what the first two years of professional life are really like.
