Wednesday, Sept. 7, 12:15 p.m. The Dana School of Music presents a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.
Wednesday, Sept. 7, 7 p.m. The YSU Lecture Series on Energy and the Environment kicks off the 2016-17 academic year with a lecture by Mark Dixon, Film Director/Producer, Activist, Public Speaker, COP21, Paris France and Beyond. The lecture is in Room B100 of Cushwa Hall.
Wednesday, Sept. 7, 7:30 p.m. The Dana School of Music hosts an outdoor pops concert “Sing, Sing, Sing” at Harrison Common Field on the YSU campus. Harrison Field is on Walnut Street in Smoky Hollow. Admission is free.
Friday, Sept. 9, 5 to 7 p.m. Opening reception for a new exhibit marking the 25th anniversary of YSU’s John J. McDonough Museum of Art. The exhibition runs through Oct. 21.The exhibit, titled “Tastemakers, a Progress of Love,” contains works collected by 11 lenders who began collecting art after being inspired by John J. McDonough to do so.
Sunday, Sept. 11, 1 p.m. Xavier takes on the Penguins in a soccer matchup at Farmers National Bank Field on campus.
