Federal Student Loan Repayment

It is important to know that student loan borrowers have options. Youngstown State University would like to provide the following information and resources to review loan status and repayment.

As a reminder:

  • Individuals who borrowed federal student loans while enrolled in post secondary education programs are obligated to repay any loans that have not already been paid or are not currently in forbearance or deferment.
  • Borrowers should log into StudentAid.gov to learn more about available repayment options.
  • To log in to StudentAid.gov, borrowers will enter their previously established username and password; if the borrower has never created a username or password, or has forgotten it, they are able to both create and/or recover these through either the “Log In” or “Create Account” links on the StudentAid.gov homepage.
  • Borrowers are encouraged to update any contact information and review the student aid dashboard data provided to ensure that loans are in good standing.
