National Women’s Health and Fitness Day Sept. 27 on campus
“Make the Healthy Choice…Get Active!” is the theme of the 2017 National Women’s Health and Fitness Day Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Youngstown State University.
The event is part of National Women’s Health & Fitness Day and includes a variety of free events open to the public, including:
- All day – Drunk Driving/Distracted Driving Simulator, Kilcawley Center Arcade.
- 7 a.m. – Morning Walk, WATTS center.
- 10 a.m. – Hydration Station, WATTS center; Pure Barre drop-in session, WATTS center.
- 11 a.m. – Pure Barre drop-in session, WATTS center.
- Noon – Dr. Shayesteh, board certified nutritionist and diabetes educator, presents “It’s Not About Weight Management, It’s About Waist Management,” Board of Trustees Room, Tod Hall.
- 1 to 3 p.m. – Blood Pressure Screening, The Gallery, Kilcawley Center.
- 5 to 6 p.m. – Yoga at Wick Park, Wick Park Pavilion.
- 6:30 p.m. – Self Defense Class, The Gallery, Kilcawley Center.
The event is sponsored by Pure Barre, Living Well YSU Employee Wellness Program, YSU Campus Rec, YSU Police Department, YSU Office of Events Management and the Acreeditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
