Scholastic Arts exhibit in Bliss this month
The artwork of dozens of area junior high school and high school students is featured in the 2020 Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition through Jan. 29 in Bliss Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The work of students grades 7 to 12 in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties are exhibited in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery on the second floor of Bilss Hall and in the YSU Art Department on the fourth floor of Bliss Hall.
Gold Key, Silver Key, Honorable Mention and American Vision awards will be presented at a ceremony noon Saturday, Jan. 25 in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater. More than 700 individual and portfolio works were entered into the regional contest. Winners of the local American Visions Award and Gold Key finalists will be sent to New York to compete in the national contest.
Supporting this year’s show are Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley (Grand Patron Sponsor) and , Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, and sponsor, YSU Department of Art.
