Dana School of Music Jazz Ensembles

The downbeat is at 7:30 p.m. for the first YSU Jazz concert of the fall term, on Monday, October 18, 2021, in Kilcawley Center’s Chestnut Room. The concert is free and open to the public. Students in the Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kent Engelhardt and the Contemporary Ensemble, directed by John Anthony will be performing. The Jazz Ensemble will feature music by Sammy Nestico, Thad Jones, Bob Mintzer and award-winning alumnus, jazz composer Dr. Bryan Kennard. The program will also include vocals by Noah Landry. The Contemporary Ensemble will play music by Vulfpeck, Kamasi Washington, and “Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, and it will feature vocals by Audrey Jobe. The concert is free and open to the public.
