Alumni Exhibition
James Rogers, Jr's work will be the focus of a solo alumni exhibition commemorating Black History Month opening Monday, January 31 through February 25 in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, second floor, Bliss Hall. The Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the exhibition is free and open to the public.Called Alumni Spotlight: James Rogers Jr: This, That and the Other (The Way I See It), the exhibition includes over 20 images from his expansive body of work. His artwork is included in private collections as well as the corporate collections of Fireline, Inc., St. Elizabeth Hospital, Kusalaba branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County among others. His work has also been featured in numerous publications such as “The Freethought Society Magazine” and the “Transformative Power of Unitarian Universalism Anthology”.A Niles, OH native, Rogers received his BA in Commercial Art from Youngstown State University in 1972. He then returned in the early 90s to study graphic design, but found that photography was the inspiration as his main creative outlet. He is currently a freelance writer and photographer living in Youngstown.
