Hello! My name is Sydney Walker, and I am a Graduate Assistant Intern / Academic Coach at the Academic Success Center. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Youngstown State University in May 2023. I am currently working on earning a Master of Education in Intervention Services Degree and an EdS in School Psychology at YSU. I am passionate about helping others, which is why I am excited to be an academic coach as well as one day become a school psychologist. I am from Amherst, Ohio. I grew up near Lake Erie, so I love summer, the beach and boating! Before working at the ASC, I had jobs working to help educate students with autism or other learning disabilities. I was also a pole vaulter for the YSU track team. Go 'Guins!

If you could only eat one flavor of ice cream your entire life, what would it be?
Anything with chocolate!!! I love Handel's chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream.
What makes you happy?
My friends, family and dog make me happiest! I love being outside, staying active and painting.
What is your favorite thing about Youngstown State University?
Penguins have always been my favorite animals! (especially the emperor penguin) As a kid I would always draw penguins! So, I love Pete, Penny and all the penguins on campus!
