Close Contact Flow Chart

Anyone who has been within six feet of a COVID-19 positive person for more than 15 minutes is considered a “close contact.” Such individuals will be contacted by a YSU contact tracer. This flow chart shows the process to determine the appropriate next steps. The left side of the chart is for close contacts with no symptoms, and the right side is for close contacts with symptoms.

Note: The chart below is a general overview of the University's process and is not meant for diagnostic purposes nor does it indicate all considerations. Once a YSU COVID-19 reporting form has been submitted, a member of the Covid Support team will reach out to determine next steps to coordinate an appropriate plan.
