On Stage

As a University Theatre student, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the world of professional theatre from multiple perspectives, behind the scenes or on the stage. Each year, University Theatre stages many shows that allow students to utilize the skills they’re learning in our classrooms. Annual shows include fully produced mainstage straight theatre and Musical Theatre productions, numerous shows that feature student actors and directors, fully produced Cabaret performances, and more. We offer many opportunities for all university students, including those in other academic programs. There are multiple ways for you to express yourself in the theatre arts at YSU!

Our Alumni Are Everywhere

Our highly accomplished graduates may be seen nationally and internationally across the entertainment industries. You’ll find our alumni on Broadway and on the small screen. And they're receiving nominations and awards from The Tony’s to The Grammys®. Our exceptional program also empowers our graduates to become successful directors, designers, choreographers, academic faculty, and more. We will prepare you for success in the theatre arts and beyond—whether behind the scenes or in the spotlight.
