Plan a visit around your schedule. We can make arrangements for you and your guest/s to meet with a WCBA representative to learn about our majors, student leadership opportunities, global learning experiences, internships, and job opportunities.

Depending on your intended major, your visit can include a tour of our state-of-the-art facilities including Williamson Hall, home to our business programs, or Bliss Hall home of our Department of Communication.

Social Media Visit Day at Youngstown State University

Hear about our B.A. in Communication, Social Media Track and turn your passion for online communication into a dynamic career with opportunities for creativity and impact. You’ll attend workshops hosted by three social media professionals who will give you insight into the opportunities in the world of social media.

9:30 a.m. - Check-in and Networking
Share social media profiles and gain new followers/subscribers.
9:45 a.m. - Welcome and Department Overview
Presented by Mary Beth Earnheardt, Ph.D. Chair and Professor

Workshops
10:00 - 10:30 a.m.: Student Panel
Meet current YSU social media students who will tell you about their experiences both in and out of the classroom.
10:30 - 10:50 a.m.: Jamie Jamison, Social Media Influencer, Instagram
This workshop will focus on using Instagram and the way visual media is unique in the landscape of professional content creation.
10:50 - 11:10 a.m.: Thomas Malacky, Digital Content Creator, Snapchat and TikTok
This workshop will focus on strategies and execution of digital content production with a focus on Snapchat and TikTok.
11:10 - 11:30 a.m.: Alyssa Osman, Coordinator of Enrollment Marketing and Recruitment, Youngstown State Bitonte College of Health and Human Services
This workshop focuses on opportunities for content planning for an organization.
11:45 a.m. - Lunch
1:00 p.m. - Campus Tours (optional)
